Activating the Flow of Abundance

Five Entryway Tips for Increased Prosperity
As you read through the following suggestions, hold curiosity for what sparks your own inspiration and creativity. What feels fun and inspiring? Where would YOU like to start?
1. Clean & Organize the Space.
Clear the past. Sweep. Wash surfaces. Put away everything that has accumulated from summer activity. Winter likes bare bones. Pare down to the essentials now and you’ll appreciate the spaciousness that opens up as the fall and winter unfold.
It’s always best to start here, however you can do this phase in stages if necessary.
2. Love Your Welcome Mat!
Your welcome mat is a powerful prosperity tool. It activates your threshold every time it’s used. The more you step on it with intention as you come and go, the more it builds the energy field of abundance at your entry.
Is your welcome mat clean and in good condition? Is it large enough for the doorway? If you don’t love it or it looks a bit worn, this would be a great time to get a new one. By the way, you don’t need a brightly colored mat. The color black represents the element of water, which is good for prosperity, so black welcome mats can be great. Find the mat you love.
3. Maintain Your Front Door.
Doors represent ease and flow in your life. Ideally it is pleasing and effortless to use your front door.
Is your front door clean and free from obstructions? (Both inside and out?) Does the door itself open and close easily, without resistance or squeaks? Is your doorknob and other hardware in good working order?
4. Amplify Your Visibility.
Visibility at your entry means that it’s easy for new opportunity to find you. Does all of your front lighting work? Are the fixtures clean and bright? Are your house numbers easy to find and pleasing to the eye? Are your entry-way windows clean?
All of these details are important for welcoming new opportunities to your life, especially in preparation for the longer nights ahead.
5. Make Your Entry Beautiful and Alive.
When you approach your home, does your entryway sing to your spirit? A simple and effective way to increase prosperity is to add flowers and plants to your entry.
Plants hold consciousness and life force energy, especially when they are loved. In return they will activate and increase the living energies of abundance that will support you and your entire home. (see my personal notes below)
What if I don't use my front door?
Some people have another entrance that they use more regularly for daily life. Because of the form (architecture) of your home, your front door is still the primary entry point for life force energy. Even if you don’t use your front door every day, it’s very important that you maintain it.
- Keep the energies there fresh and alive. Use the principle outlined here.
- Open the door for a few minutes every day to allow the life force to enter. If you have a front porch, perhaps you can create a place to sit.
In addition, for any other entries that you use, you can also apply these principles to be sure that it feels good when you come and go from all of your doorways.
More on Activating Your Entryway with Plants
Because of their ability to hold consciousness, living plants are one of the best Feng Shui tools for prosperity.
This set of planters near my front door creates one of my favorite prosperity spots in my entire home. I tend them with appreciation and I send them love every time I come and go.
In return they thrive, and anchor a strong field of prosperity and abundant well-being for my entryway throughout the year. (If you look closely, you’ll see the new yellow primrose blossoms opening in front. This little plant tends to bloom nearly year-round.)
If you already have planters near your front door, this is a great time to refresh them. If not, perhaps you would like to create a new planter with fall and winter perennials? Your local nursery can help you create a beautiful low-maintenance arrangement. Depending on your climate it can last through the winter and into next year.
