Happy Solstice!
I’m happy to connect with you today, as we in the north celebrate the longest night of the year and the return of the light.
The word “solstice” comes from the Latin, meaning “sun stands still.” At solstice the Sun pauses while the powers of Day and Night meet and exchange places. This moment generates new potentials for our world. Then the Sun grounds these potentials, deep within our bodies and the body of the Earth.
I love this season! I love the quiet and inner calm that infuses all of Nature. I love the feeling of the light taking root inside of me. I also love the age-old symbols and celebrations of the season, which are beautiful and help me reconnect with the wisdom that we hold within.
Whatever your traditions, it can be powerful to find symbols and simple ceremonies that resonate to you. Your celebration of the solstice, for example, can be as simple as lighting a candle with appreciation, focus and intent.
However you celebrate, I invite you each day to make space for quiet. This is a time to connect within, to your sense of Spirit, your experience of Source and your inner realms. Within the stillness you may feel the stirrings of excitement, and the eager anticipation of the Universe, poised as it is for the birth of the new cycles of life to come.
Also of course, spend time in the coming days with those you love. Express your appreciation, share laughter and treasured memories, and your inspiration for the future.
Take time each day to be out-of-doors. Feel your appreciation for the power and vitality of Nature that gives you life. Be outside in the light of the day as well as the magic of the night. In the blanket of the dark you can often more clearly feel the birth of the light that you hold within.
In closing, I want to express my deep appreciation and gratitude to each of you, my many dear Friends, for the all of the blessings you have brought to my life. I count myself among the luckiest on Earth to be able to walk this journey with you.
I wish you every blessing on this special day and in the days to come. From my heart I send intentions for happiness and joy as you bring your inspirations and prayers forward into the light of the new day.
I wish you and your loved ones the most blessed of holidays.
Love,
Beth
